Death is a Great Mystery
Emmanuel, in a book by Pat Rodegast, says that “death is like taking off a too tight shoe”. Meaning that the moment of death is a big relief. Enjoyable.
People have different ideas and life experiences about death depending on what they were taught growing up. Different religions all over the world have explanations about what happens after death and some even describe what happens at the time of death.
If You Were God
Death is a great mystery. Ask yourself: “What do I think happens when someone dies”? Try to forget the stories you have heard and pictures you have seen and think your own thoughts.
Think about being God. Ask yourself: “If I were a loving creative God and in charge of everything, what would I want to take place when a soul leaves a body”?
Write a story about what you think happens to people after they pass on.
Draw what you think happens after someone leaves their body. Story (FRAME) Draw (FRAME)
Expanded Experience
Children often have their own deep spiritual connection that may be very different than what religions teach. Some kids see, feel, and or hear other worldly things. Some name these things angels or guides, some name them God. Some kids hear their mother talk to them after she dies. Some see images of what seems like Mom, in dreams or in waking states. Have you had any experiences like these?
Often kids don’t talk about these experiences because they feel shy or an adult tells them they are making it up. Don’t let that discourage you. Many adults have these expanded experiences and don’t talk about them very much because they are afraid someone will not believe them. People have been having these expanded experiences for thousands of years and writing about them for many hundreds of years. What you see, feel, and hear in a state of expanded consciousness is just as real as in other parts of your life.
Some people think that after someone dies she continues to have consciousness even when not in her body.
Some people think that after death a soul is in a spirit form which includes consciousness. They even think that the soul continues learning, and being conscious but just doesn’t have a body. Some people believe your mom still has consciousness and will be listening to you and may communicate with you. What do you think?
If you want to, try talking to your mother and telling her how you feel. You may want to tell her you miss her and love her. You may want to tell her you are scared, angry and sad. Try asking her for advice about something that is bothering you. Then be very quiet and listen. Be patient. Listen.
Maybe you will hear her speak back to you in her regular voice. She may speak to you in ways you won’t expect. Through a dream for instance, or as the wind blowing through the trees, or the call of a bird.
Absolutely you will hear your Mom in the depths of your own heart
"There is no better way to help youngsters through their trauma than the combined art, writing and emotional movement processes that Dr. Chubbuck masterfully shows us in 'Goodbye Mom'.”
